Is chocolate milk after a workout better for me than whey protein isolate?

I have just recently heard that chocolate milk is the absolute best thing you can have after a workout. I am 16 and I would like to know if this is true. I already take whey isolate after my workouts but I want to know if chocolate milk is better.

  2. Um, whoever told you that is a complete utter idiot.

    Think about it...protein to help repair your muscle you just broke or sugary c**p that does nothing to your body, that is except the milk part of it.

    Know which is better?

    Yeah, I'd stick with the protein  

  3. Whey protein is the best (nothing is absorbed faster) and since milks protein is only about 20% whey ... the protein isolate (about 90%) will be much better for your muscle building.

  4. I recently read the same thing in in Men's Fitness magazine Sep 2008 edition, check it out. Chocolate milk has just the right balance of carbs and protein for quick recovery after workout. But you can get the same effect by adding Nesquik to your own milk and possibly your whey shake.

  6. i doubt it becuz i've heard that depending on how it's made some chocolate milk can actually have more sugar in it than soda.
