I've lived in the city all my life, I always assumed city water was better than well water. I just moved to Kansas, and everyone says that well water is so much better than city water. But it's only people who have lived in the country all their lives who say that.. so I'm wondering if they're just ignorant? Is city water bad for you? I know it has chemical additives, but is that necessarily bad? It tastes a h**l of a lot better.. and it feels a lot better.

  1. Personally, I have called my local water company & most will tell you what they put in the water to treat it. unfortunately, non of the chemicals are safe to drink by them selves. So you decide for your self what your going to put in your body & what the long term effects could be. Im sticking with bottled water. Found a new one about a month ago. Called "Perfect Water" tastes like what I would imagine liquid air would taste like. You get free shipping when you order 2 cases.

  2. No city water isn't bad for you. The water filtration process is very precise, and unless something is wrong with the process, than the water is great. In fact, well water is more likely to have problems such as bacteria or hard water. People who have their own wells are less likely to have them checked and monitored as often as city water suppliers and so they are more likely to have these problems. Heavy rains can cause agricultural runoff which may end up in well water and contaminate it. There are many other ways of well water becoming contaminated. A great example of this is the Walkerton incident in Ontario a few years back. So no, city water is not bad for you :)

  3. Depends on what city you live in...we have hard water and it need lots of additives.  It can cause high blood pressure in some people and is know to cause a few miscarriages.  You will need to talk with your City's Water Department to find out about your city's water.
