  1. The only difference between the two is that you can plug one into an amp so i don't think i matters to much

  2. You'll just be glad that you learned a bit of classical before switching to electric.

IT WILL MAKE YOU A BETTER GUITARIST, but do whatever you want. I started with electric and am now a classical guitarist, actually, trying to do a bit of flamenco. I wouldn't really say that one is easier than the other. They can all be made to be very difficult and they all have varying techniques and styles... Seriously, watch the difference in technique (how the instrument is played).

Electric (he's doing stuff with his feet too)

Not easy to pick one is it. Most teachers hate it when you want to do more than one. Heck, we're not even talking much about different styles of music here. For instance, jazz.

Oh yeah, how could I forget...

MAKE SURE TO COME BACK AND SEE THEM AGAIN AFTER ABOUT A YEAR'S WORTH OF PLAYING.

  3. I am learning to play the electric is really easy. And my guitar teacher said its eaiser to lear electirc than accusitc and he was like ya i kno u would htink the exact opp. But The electic is really easy.

  4. Classical guitar is EXCELLENT for beginners, because it gives you discipline, requires that you read music, and gives you the foundations of posture and finger technique. The instrument per se might be a little harder to play because it has a wider fingerboard; but nylon strings are much easier to press. Pat Metheny started with a classical guitar.

  5. I have electrics, acoustics and a classical.  But my first real lessons where on the classical.  And I agree with your TEACHER and not THE GUY at the store.  Every guitar player should have some finger-picking in their arsenal and the sooner you learn, the better.  Classicals require more attention to technique and posture.   And it's a whole lot easier to start off learning the right way, than to correct bad habits later on.  And once you're ready to get an electric, you'll be able to make the switch pretty easy.
