hello, i recently bought a 1992 camaro, and it has a really nice paint job. You can tell that someone has taken the time to keep it waxed in the past. I have some meguires cleaner wax, that says its clear coat safe. Is this kind of wax ok to use on my car? I just dont want it to ruin the paint since its cleaner wax, and doesnt have oxidation or old wax marks on it.

  1. Cleaner wax is ok to use, won't hurt the paint. Cleaner wax is mainly used to remove any markings like door ding paint markings, tar, oil and any other markings. Just make sure to use a carnuba wax after to help protect the clearcoat finish and a detail finish spray.

  2. Thats perfectly safe to use on your cars finish, cleaer waxes generally have a small amount of compound mixed in with the wax to aid in removing light oxidation/surface imperfections when the surface isnt bad enough for a complete 3 step buff and wax procedure.

    Good luck!
