  1. it just a farse

  2. ali s from another question tells us there is proof available. I'm going to wait on Ali S and then share with you, It will be wonderful to KNOW

  3. What most people don't seem to know is that the climate has changed millions of times in the past 7 100 million years. just 2000 years ago it was hot enough in Brittan to grow grapes an oranges.

  4. No I think it's true

  5. yes

    earth is a self-regulatory enviornment

al gore can go live in france

he and his conspiracy theorist friends can kiss my ***

  6. The climate situation is no different than it was in the 1950's.

It's just another money making scam.

  7. No, it's the other way around!  The people who say it's a hoax or whatever support the continued use of high priced fossil fuel.  They also oppose the development of alternative fuels, and often, recycling.

  8. 'just 2000 years ago it was hot enough in Brittan to grow grapes an oranges.'

actually the romans hated it here, because it was cold and wet, and the wine was rubbish.

we have now gone right past the average northern hemisphere temperatures of the medieval maximum, and are shooting up into unknown territory. wild weather ahead, with all that extra energy in the oceans and atmosphere!

as for grapes, we grow them now and have done for some decades, english wine is getting rather good at last. and i have almond and olive trees planted out, both starting to fruit. my big personal worry is how to defend them as an old lady in the interesting times to come.....

  9. Yes it's a made up story and there is no evidence although Gordon Brown likes to think there is. It's an invisible excuse for a another tax hike.

    It's a natural cycle that's irreversible.

What actually changed the climate when we had the ice age? Nothing, there were no humans to contribute, it was a natural cycle of the Earths weather pattern and this is no different just the fact that it's getting warmer not colder.

  10. It most definitely is NOT. Hardly anyone disbelieves it any more, even in the US.

  11. get a life, stop asking dumb questions

  12. Yes.

  13. Made up story or not. it`s certainly causing an increase in fuel prices

  14. Can't you see that the climate is change with your own eyes, we have tornado's quite frequent and the weather is giving us more flooding every year. The snow is melding fast on the north and south pole, but it won't be on my time. I wish it was people like me that started the roomers, but alas it is not. It is a fact.

  15. yes your spot on,excuse me while i go for a long drive.well i would if i could afford the fuel..

  16. Climate change is an accepted scientific fact, man made global warming is a political doctrine.

Global climate is a dynamic process and, as such, is always in a state of change regardless of humans.

Both the amount of warming and and the degree to which human activity are responsible have been grossly exaggerated for political motives.

We have now had 10 years of cooling or stable temperatures

    http://www.dailytech.com/Temperature+Mon...

These measurements have been made by the official organisations which monitor global temperature, not GW sceptics or oil industry people, so cannot just be dismissed.

The graph shows that 1999 and 2000 the temperature cooled, 2000 to 2006 it remained stable and in 2007 in cooled again despite the continuing increase in CO2.

This indicates to me the the role of CO2 in our atmosphere has been substantially over estimated, it is a factor, but only one in many.

The claim that there is scientific consensus is a scam, the Russian academy of science does not accept that the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis is correct, and many of their environmental scientists have been working in Siberia and the Arctic for decades.

There are historical records showing that vineyards were growing in Northern England around the turn of the first millennium. They can't grow there now, so it must have been hotter then.

  17. I always say that. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for recycling and saving energy but it's going a bit too far when they say we shouldn't fly. How do they expect us to travel? And as I can't drive I have to rely on public transport every time and it's geting worse and more expensive and I don't blame anybody who uses their car instead of public transport. If the climate change was really so bad and cars were really so bad, they would make a big effort with public transport. This is my opinion, especially when I have to stand for hours freezing, waiting for my tram or bus!

  18. Basically, yes.

Is there any question this is a scam when the first big "global warming" push came from a politician (Al Gore)? Is there any question its a scam when its being used as a reason to raise taxes and give more control of energy sources to the energy industrial complex —a government/corporate tag team.

I know, we should all be taxed more and that will magically solve all of our climate problems. Lets ban all bottled water, make it illegal for the average consumer to have any kind of water storage, but keep giving government subsidies to corporations that put toxic chemicals in the air and water. I'm sure that will make us all more healthy and suddenly the solar cycle will change, ending all natural disasters and normalizing all weather patterns. Lets raise the price of gas until no one can afford it, effectively stifling our economy and at the same time allow big oil to limit competing energy sources. This will help the environment you're all so concerned about I'm sure (sarcasm).

Is there something going on with the environment? Yes. Do scientists agree this is man-made global warming? Definitely not. Look at my sources.

I recycle, I try to act responsibly with regard to all aspects of life, including the environment. I don't believe any government has the right to tax me under the guise of protecting the environment. Anyone who thinks this is right is simply a slave, ready to l**k the boots of their wanna-be masters. Lets all voluntarily act in a responsible manner (hopefully starting with the big industries that pollute and and create large amounts of toxic waste). But lets not add to our climate uncertainties tyranny, oppression, and extortion.

(Frank, "global warming" isn't a source.)

    To guy below:

Because UK is under more tyranny and government propaganda than we are here in the US, although we're getting there too.

  19. Definately not, just ask a Polar Bear or an African farmer, the global conditions are changing and we, humans, are to blame.

  20. No, it's a scientifically verified theory.

  21. Several of the other answerer's have pointed out that there have been changes to the climate in the past that had nothing to do with humankind - also, both Mars and Venus had atmospheres similar to ours at one stage, but those planets atmospheres were destroyed by runaway global warming - are we to believe that all they needed were toyota prius's and they would have been OK - this natural phenomena is being exaggerated and used to sell us products we don't need and keep us in line - "green" politics is the religion of the 21st century.

  22. Read Michael Crighton's book, "State of Fear"  You'll dig it, and I think it will answer your question.

  23. Of course not.  The idea that the greenhouse effect was warming the earth more because of man's actions was created many, many years ago by people who died long before the scaremonger started.   It did not become a huge issue until much later when some scientists thought this could end up causing a catastrophe.

This kind of question shows a complete lack of knowledge of the history of global warming research.

  24. Quite frankly you are a fool.

A unanimous global scientific community suggests otherwise my friend.

Only in the US is it still thought of as a hoax, but now even Exxon have stopped paying scientists and have changed their tune.

By the way war has hiked the world prices, and caused the American economy to wobble not climate change.

People mention it is a new fad and Al Gore started it. Well, how come we all learned about it in junior school here in the UK about 16 years ago ?

  25. I believe it is "scare mongering" but the price gouging is from opportunists.  I don't believe in conspiracies so much as what I call "band wagons."  Someone starts the wagon rolling and anyone who can gain from jumping on it, will jump on.

The climate change is largely natural.  See the Greenland ice core historical data graphs at http://www.exploratorium.edu/climate/cry...

We are now in small temperature oscillations on a slow slide into another long, deep ice age.
