  1. No it *is* chlorine bleach.  Unless you are using Clorox 2 which is color safe and non choline based.


  2. K M is absolutely correct.

    And when it says "all purpose" it's NOT all purpose! That was a hard lesson to learn when I was 20 and did 5 loads of laundry at the laundry matte all at the same time. I poured "all purpose" bleach in every load. Don't make the same mistake I did.

  3. To be totally safe with a non clorine product, we use Oxyclean powder in our white and stained loads.

  4. Clorox in the jug is chlorine bleach (read the label -- it'll say "sodium hypochlorite".  Powdered Clorox 2 is a peroxygen bleach, not chlorine -- look at the label for sodium perborate.  It also has amylase and protease enzymes to help with food soiling.

    And liquid Clorox 2 is also a peroxygen bleach, in this case hydrogen peroxide.
