  1. Ofcourse. If left long enough even when it is cured it can cause sterility.

Yes, it is very serious.  If you are a woman, chlamydia can go undetected and eventually cause PID, or pelvic inflammatory disease.  This puts you at risk for fertility problems later on (like ectopic pregnancy, which can kill you if its not caught in time).  If you think you may have chlamydia, go see a doctor and it can be cleared up easily and painlessly with a simple antibiotic.  Make sure to tell your partner too so they get treatment as well.
