Is coconut milk from a can RAW?

im not talking about the 99cent ones im talking about the 3dollar per can made in thailand coconut milk. is it heated?

  1. When you can anything you seal it in a heat and presure proof package and heat it to kill any bacteria.

    it's processed.

It is processed ( canned and steamed at 160 d F to seal and sterilize the tin)as the one fellow said that is why when you open it the cream or fat is on the top and the watery milk on the bottom, when I make Thai veg curry's I use the top to cook the veg and spices in and add the bottom layer and veggie stock for the rest of the liquid, I use it mixed for coconut rice as a dessert or in soups and also make a coconut gel with a seaweed gel for a Thai/Malay rice sweet like fudge but not milk and it is like a gelled coconut cream and fruit cube.
