  2. The stimulants in coffee (mainly caffeine) have both laxative and diuretic effects. That in itself is not sufficient to make you lose any significant weight.

    The caffeine does speed up the metabolism, but only by a small fraction.

    However, coffee can help you lose weight if you drink it without sugar or milk, and you drink instead of sweetened drinks. Coffee in itself contains practically no calories and is therefore not fattening at all as long as you don't add sugar or milk to it.

  4. Well coffee has caffeine, at least 85 mg per serving. It takes more water to process caffeine than caffeinated drinks provide. This means they actually dehydtate you. The water used to process the caffeine is no longer needed and immediately excreted.

    Coffee itself is not fattening. It is what is put in it that make it fattening. Sugar and creamers can make it fattening. However that really is not the problem either. The only real reasons why stuff can be fattening is simply because people consume too many calories.

  5. Coffee has no calories, it's the stuff you add to it that  adds calories.  It's the caffeine in the coffee that make syou go to the bathroom.
