Question:

Is collecting that un-employment check the real job for US citizens of today?

The reason I ask is because I've seen reports stating that more and more illegal aliens have either fled the country or have been deported. Doesn't this mean that there are a lot of vacant jobs, but our un-employment rate is still rising? Yes! people are cutting back, but I don't think illegals worked at places like Starbucks, so that can't be the reason? What is the real reason for this?

  1. Lets see the national average unemployment rate is about 5.5% which is still quite low. So obviously the answer is no collecting an unemployment check is not the job of US citizens today.

  2. The jobs that are available don't necessarily match the skills of the people who are job hunting.  You can't swap a mail clerk for a tile setter.

The first answer is correct.  Given the rather low unemployment rate, although it doesn't reflect every unemployed person, it doesn't suggest that most people have swapped jobs for unemployment checks.

  3. All illegal jobs are day-labor jobs. Jobs that get at Homedepot parking lot from customers. They don;t pay into the unemployment insurance pool. Industry is downsizing, causing a rise in unemployment.

  4. No, there are not a lot of jobs - and if you ever checked the want ads you would know this.

  5. Si Senor! but they say the jobs don't pay enough! Boo Hoo! something is better then nothing......Wait! the un-employment check is a lot easier. That's proof that they don't really want the jobs illegals left.....at any price!!!!!

  6. If it were the illegal aliens would not be able to collect some 300 billion a year in welfare, send their kids to school, use the emergency room for free, and generally suck all the money they can out of the writhing body of the United States.

  7. First of all, unemployment pay has a life expectancy, unlike welfare.

Not only that, but you must have worked 90 days straight with one company before being eligible for the benefit.

This means, they actually must WORK to get it.

What your statistics don't point out is that there are numerous employment agencies (temporary employment) who obtain jobs for people in need--these people HOPE to be hired on full-time, when in fact, most people nowadays end up working 89 days or JUST SHORT of unemployment eligibility status.

I feel this is illegal, but US hiring practices don't consider these numbers when factoring in totals collecting unemployment benefits. There are more workers who fall just a fraction of days BELOW the status to collect which also fall BELOW national statistic radar which has become an epidemic that is NOT addressed.

  8. maybe for you. between all your copying and pasting and posting these dumb questions, do you even have a job????????

  9. More proof that we need to send more criminal invaders back to their country of origin. We should at least keep pace with with unemployment! Thanks for the reminder. I'll talk to Uncle Joe (AKA Sheriff Joe) about increasing his crime suppression sweeps. I hope other states will follow!

  10. No,as was mentioned, take a look in the paper, there aren't a lot of job vacancies. While some illegals are leaving, there are still millions upon millions here taking jobs.

  11. Working, collection un employment, welfare benefits, health care, these are things every race uses at one time or another. The question is who is entitled to these benefits. Americans. That's why they and you live in America. Being a country is taking care of your own.Whether it be in gov. sponsored benefits or jail or prison time. That's the reason we pay taxes and Social Security. When you have outside  people collection you over use funds and there aren't enough for the legal citizens.
