Is college worth 10-20 grand worth of loans a year?

Especially when you plan to go to professional school afterward?

I'm contemplating whether I want to go to be in that much debt just for a good school.

It depends on how much you are going to make when you are all done so you can pay it off and live comfortably.  My husband and I are $120,000 in student loan debt, but we went through college with a kid and it was just worth taking out the loans instead of working full time (and college full time) so we could have family time, and I would say it is definetely worth it because we will be making around 135,000 a year.

what's the alternative? yes, it's worth it.

What type of school? What major are you? In my opinion unless the college is a prestigious one, I dont think it's worth it, considering you might end up with 40K-80K in debt.

I spent 3 years in college coming out with only 13K in debt.
