because the longer we keep telling kids there is more that one human race, the longer it will be before there is peace on this planet.

  1. We are a military family, and my son has always been around all kinds of people.  Up until this story, he had never asked any race questions, and we had never said anything either.  So we were at a Military function and he had been talking to two of my husband's co workers that were sitting next to each other.  At one point, he asked one of the women "What color is your arm" and she said "White".  He said "No silly, it's peach".  Then he asked the lady next to her "What color is your arm" and she said "Black" and he said "No it's not, it's brown.  You guys need to come to school with me and learn your colors".

Kids have no clue about black or white.  They learn from us, and if we make comments about other races, they pick up on it and take it from there.

  2. Yes, its being taught in Obama's church.

  3. well, as human beings, or bipedal primates belonging to the mammalian species Homo sapiens you could say we belong to the Human Race. One race = the human race.

However, this is a world of many nations, many cultures and many social groups that form many races. These races or groups act like various sets that divide people into populations or groups within the human race. As our pride in our own culture and customs (or race) grows, so does the unfamiliarity with other races and the discrimination being taught. It becomes worst as the races differ in color.

However, the situation isnt solved by telling children there is just one race or more than one race. What brings understanding is that we help kids understand the differences in cultures and races and teach them to accept one another. Without proper insight, understanding, and openmindedness the problem of discrimination will never end.

  4. ya there is, all kinds of discrimination is taught through tv shows today, if you watch you will see what im talking about, little kids watch the show or commercial and observe that as a fact and form stereotypes about it

ex: comercial shows somebody doing something wrong, the person doing it wrong is usually ugly, fat, the wrong color, whatever is should be descriminatd against. then the commercial shows a good looking person doing whatever it was correctly with the product, somebody who doesnt know better deducts that the better looking person is better than the ugly person because they did whatever the action w

  5. Hi Pal,,

Thanks for this enlightening question. You need to know that now religion has taken the fore front.Dark skinned people follow a mean religion..called Alqeda.

So that is why people hate darker skinned people...

Another thing.....skin colour reflects on hormones and proteins. This changes how people behave internally and externally.

  6. Of course it is!

After the civil rights movements racists didn't disappear because it was not socially acceptable or because the media didn't focus on them - they continued infusing their their beliefs and values on their children...like all parents do.

However each generation is more accepting than the next, so as one parent teaches, another breaks away.  Evolution paves the way...

  7. Sorry to burst your idealistic bubble, and, even though I agree that all men are brothers, and that's a good thing to teach, there are a lot more things that work against peace on the planet than color discrimination. If we were all the same color, we would find yet another basis on which to discriminate and to fight about. All animals in the kingdom including humans are wired to compete for wealth, mates, and such, and color is just one of the ways of deciding whom to side with and whom to side against.

  8. that is the truth.  vote obama

  9. Unfortunately its the other way round. In this liberal world of ours, schools, tv and media are preaching that everyone is the same and all is great out there. The reality is somewhat different as any white person who has tried to have a relationship with an asian girl will tell you. Wise up .

  10. Are you suggesting that we lie to children by pretending that there is only one "race" and that we're all the same? Because that's simply not true.

All that is needed is an education system and culture that teaches children to understand and accept cultural, racial and religious differences. That's the only way of eradicating racism; from the ground up (that is, eventually all the old racists will die, and we won't be creating any more).
