  1. the fact that communication itself is very broad, i shall say yes.

    1. you use a language to express yourself (hence you are communicating with the outside world)

    2. you use a language to write a novel (sharing your ideas through the use of the pen, hence communicating again_

    3. you use a language to advertise a certain product (you try to get your customers' attention, hence communication)

    as of now, i cannot think of a function which is not related to communication. it all ends up to one thing.
