  1. simply put socialism is govt. instituted communism because man has not "evolved" enough to embrace communism without leadership. In true communism there is no government.

  2. Nope.

Communism is the belief that everyone is equal. A perfect example is North Korea. There is one person in power and everyone else underneath are "equal".

This is the perfect system in God's eyes, if you are Catholic or Christian.

Socialism refers to a broad array of ideologies and political movements with the goal of a socio-economic system in which property and the distribution of wealth are subject to control by the public.

Which means money and such are to be controlled by their citizens. Controlled doesn't mean "owning" here. It means, they are to use the money, and will eventually return to the Government in some way, shape, or form.

    I hope I helped. =)

***MollehFabolus is wrong by the way*** Communism means everyone is equal, expect for their leaders.

  3. Not exactly. The classical idea of Communism is a classless, moniless society in a dictoatorship of the Proletariat. Socialism is seen as a way to achieve this utopia. For example, Stalin's version involved a dictatorship which would guide the Soviet Union toward Communism.

If I were you I'd read Lenin's 'What is to be done?' of 1902.

  4. No.  According to Marx, socialism comes before Communism.

  5. No there not the same.

Communism is a system of government

In which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people.

Socialism is a system of social organization

That advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

example : our public schools is a socialism system

  6. Well, not exactly but they are as close as kissing cousins

  7. Communism is a political force.

    Socialism is an economic force.

  8. No. Socialism is what most of Europe has. Pretty much most of your income goes to the government, but healthcare is free for everyone. Think of socialism as the midway between communism (China) and capitalism (USA). In communism, more money is taken by the government and it is very much an "everyone is equal except the government" principle.

  9. Socialism is a set of ideas and political movements with the goal of a socio-economic system.  Which property and wealth are subject to control by the public.

The socialist movement largely originated in the late–19th century. The term "socialism" was first used by people who spoke against capitalism and private property.

Communism is a socio- economic structure that promotes the establishment of a classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production.   It is usually considered to be a branch of socialism.  Communism attempts to offer an alternative to the problems believed to be inherent with capitalist economies and the legacy of imperialism and nationalism. Communism states that the only way to solve these problems would be for the working class, or proletariat, to replace the wealthy bourgeoisie, which is currently the ruling class, in order to establish a peaceful, free society, without classes, or government.

  10. Not quite.  Communism is socialism with a incentive to work hard.  Historically, that incentive has been a gun to the head.

    so·cial·ism  (ssh-lzm)

    2. The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which collective ownership of the economy under the dictatorship of the proletariat has not yet been successfully achieved.

  12. Communism is an extreme branch of Socialism.

Socialism has many different and sometimes conflicting ideologies. Generally they want the public to direct the distribution of wealth.

Communism envisions a classless, stateless society based with common ownership and means of production. (from wikipedia)

Really there are two communisms, that described above, which was never really in practice, and the other, which is basically dictatorship with a different name.  The Chinese call themselves communist, though their economy is capitalist much like our own.

Interestingly, the US isn't purely capitalist, it's actually a mixture of capitalsim and socialism.  Not only are many services directly run by the government (police, military, etc), but all other industries are regulated, some of them quite heavily (by EPA, OSHA, etc.)

  13. Just two more inches to the left and your there .

  14. I've been told that Ireland is a socialist country, but it's definitely not communist.

  19. Nope.

communism: (classes, no equality. all property owned by everyone, but pay depends on need and skill)

a political theory advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.

socialism: (everything equal, everything owned by everyone)

a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole

One is the goal of the other.

  22. communism is like extreme socialism.  Socialism is likely to lead to communism.
