yes...and no

yes in the sense they are college classes. you can transfer them to a college or university as transfer credits.

no in the sense there is no dorm, athletics, or some other social organization that colleges/universities offer.

I like to think of community college as still being like High School except that you have the freedom of taking classes on your own schedule. The professors at community are usually more lenient and more helpful because the classes are a lot smaller then the 100 plus stadium seating at a 4-year campus.
