  1. Yes i use it when my baby had diarrhea 2 weeks ago ..She's only 4 weeks and her Dr told me to give it to her..Also give her lots of pedialyte..

  2. Babies should NOT RECEIVE WATER.

  3. i have honestly never heard about using it for babies but this might sound a little messed up but my vet saids white rice and rice water is good for puppies when they get diarrhea so i can see the logic behind it like if it started with babies then people started using it for their dogs

  4. No, and infants can dehydrate very quickly. I would contact your pediatrician's on-call physician and ask them what you should do.

  5. I have never heard that one.

Depending how old your little one is you might try.

    Bananas

    Dairy........cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.

  6. Yes.  Here's the recipe given to me by my doc:

    Rice Broth-

    use med. grain rice

1 tsp rice to 10 oz water

    add salt to taste

    boil 45 min - 1 hr

    give in small amnts

    3x/day for 1-2 days

If I remember correctly it's recommended for babies 4 mos & up.

  7. I don't think that rice water would help. My daughter got diarrea a lot when she was little...mostly from ear infections...and I'll tell you that it mostly depends on what type of diarrea the child has.  If it's just infant diarrea and it still has normal color then the best thing is to give the child fruit, and fruit juices.  Keep plenty of liquid in the infant because they dehidrate very quickly from it.  But if it is really smelly and the color is odd looking, or if is clear and foamy...it is probably a kind of diarrea developed  from being on antibiotics or from incurring an intestinal infection.  The best thing for that is to keep the child away from milk products for 24 hours and give them yogurt(yes I know that is a dairy product)but it has good bacteria in it and it helps clear up the diarrea.  If none of that helps you should take the baby to the doctor. Good Luck. :(

  8. yes

that's what my mom tell me

  9. No rice water won't cease infant diarrhea.   Try giving the baby pedialyte to keep up it's electrolytes and help prevent dehydration and wait for the bug to pass.

  10. If he/she is old enough, try the BRAT diet. (Banana, Rice, Apple, Toast) Also, yogurt works well. I would think that they would need the actual bulk of the rice to bind them though. Try it though.
