  1. It is!  Applying heat to the household items used in cooking causes chemical changes in them.  That's why when bread cools, it doesn't go back to being dough.  It didn't just get hot--the flour, milk, and eggs in the dough chemically reacted with one another when it was exposed to high temperatures, so the bread became soft and fluffy with a hard crust, instead of staying flat and sticky.

  2. yes

  3. YEAAA it is but u seem to got that answer to the second question chemistry is

the science that deals with the composition and properties of substances and various elementary forms of matter

and no i didnt get that outta dictionary ;) lol it's the changning of matter to another form basically

  4. Oh yes. It's a chemical change occuring. You are changing the chemical identity of the food you cook. Sugars react with proteins (Maillard reaction). Sugar melts. The molecules in food move faster as well. Caramelization of meat for example results from heat breaking proteins down into simple sugars (wiki). Adding vinegar rases pH. -Sorry had to add more this is such a huge part of chemistry.

-Thanks alex for the thumps down

  5. yes
