Is copper tubing for water the same for central air?

  1. AC units operate at higher pressures (over 100 psi) than municipal water systems (75 psi max.), so the tubing is a bit more robust for AC units.

    Based on my observations, the tubing walls in AC units is much thicker than for tubing I use around the house (for my ice-maker, evaporative cooler, etc.)
