Yes, because you are only paying for the process of cremation and the vessel for the cremains.  Where as a burial you pay for embalming, the plot of land for the burial, the casket, and the labor involved in the burial itself.

In 2007 I paid $1700.00 for the cremation of my loved one and that included a brass vessel engraved with a loving setiment. The RC church charged me $350.00 for a memorial mass. Hope this helps.

way cheaper! pretty much from morgue to ash.....no embalming, no casket, no nothing - you dont even have to buy a nice container for the ashes - you can just have them in a box!

Cremation you pay for the process and vessel for the ashes.

Burial you're looking at embalming (sp?) from the mortician to prepare the deceased, the plot, a granite/marble tombstone (with custom work), the casket, flowers, etc.  Also, if you are buying a family plot and haven't yet, that could run into a lot of money upfront anyway depending on how many people plan to be buried there.

Depending on the casket and tombstone especially, you could be looking at a LOT of money - depending especially what the casket is made of and the custom work on the tombstone.

Yelp all they wast with a creamation is the body the casket is a rental for the lay out

And when they give the jar of what is left of you they can put you in the garden for a little boost to the soil or in the nearest dumpster
