Is criminal Justice a good thing to Study Or can it be a Waste of Time???

It can be a good career choice if you ever want to get into law school or law enforcement or work in a correctional facility. You might also consider a paralegal degree if you are not sure yet. Most are just two years online.

To me it seems much too focussed. The former students of mine who have done well in the criminal justice field do not have criminal justice majors. They have majors either in related social science areas such as psychology or sociology or entirely unrelated areas like History.

Its not a good thing its a great thing because it helps out people in so many ways. Like preventing and solving crimes, defending and prescuting criminals, all kinds of things.

Criminal Justice is rather usless if you wish to become a lawyer or some form of white collar worker, however it is an excellent course if you wish to pursure a career in law enforcement, corrections, general law such as planning and private security fields.

If you are hoping for the white collar jobs in the area of law, then I would sugest taking courses in Psychology, Sociology, Polital Science, Philosophy (Ethics), American and political History, English Comp and Speech. All of these will offer specific courses tailored made for certain majors and will make you a more rounded individual for when the time comes for law school.

You may also benefit from just a couple of courses in criminal justice such as the intro and criminal evidence or take a look a paralegal course  and take certain courses in that too such as the intro course, legal research and legal writing.

The idea of it being a waste of time really all depends on what kind of career you are wanting for yourself and what you are wanting to get out of the course itself.

its good if you want to be a lawyer, judge, or something like a criminal investigator or cop. if you dont want to do anything in the criminal justice field then i think it would be a waste of time
