Question:

Is criticism directed at Canada over its foreign aid contributions fair, and fully thought out?

Canada does not meet the .7 % of GDP figure for foreign aid, as several free world nations do, but people are overlooking one little thing! Actually it is quite massive---in cost!

Together with a generous immigration system, Canada brings in more destitute refugees, than any other country

on the planet. These people are afforded all the rights and privileges of the general citizenry. Thanks to a very comprehensive and costly multicultural ministry, newcomers are encouraged to retain their culture and various traditions. Language training and dedicated programs add up to far more in aid for impoverished people than that offered by the foreign aid from all the other countries, with the USA being a lone exception. What do you think then of our 0.2 of GDP for foreign aid, keeping in mind all the other good we do for destitute, 3rd world people?

  1. I think it is better than the numbers indicate at first.

    You mentioned the USA.

OK, it is interesting to see just what USA foreign aid goes out as.

USA bundles huge amounts of military and weapons support into their foreign aid budgets.

They are not the only country that does this.

A lot of other foreign aid is dispensed as trade missions.

Very little of Canada's foreign aid budget gets spent on bullets

  2. God bless Canada
