  1. The competition is part of the Olympics.  That is my total exposure to the game.  I would think it is a sport that requires skills similar to billiards, shuffleboard, bowling, and some golf components (such as putting).   I personally find the curling competition to be interesting.  I especially like the fact it is not subject to being prostituted into a professional game.  It is real sport in my view.

  2. Of course it's a sport, very popular out west, even have clubs in Toronto, no speed required and no real strenght either, a good team sport!

  3. yes it is. I am not quite sure what it is bou i think its played sort of like marbles(but not with marbles) I just looked it up on wikipedia.org and it says, "Curling is a team sport with similarities to darts and shuffle board, played by two teams of four players each on a rectangular sheet of carefully prepared ice. Teams take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones down the ice towards the target (which is called the house). Two sweepers with brooms accompany each rock and use timing equipment and their best judgment along with direction from their other teammates to help direct the stones to their resting place. The complex nature of stone placement and shot selection has led some to refer to curling as 'chess on ice'."

  4. idk at first i tought it was the gayest thing since richard simmons, but its actually rather enjoyable to watch during the olympics.
