  1. I think curry is a spice. Curry oil is oil infused with curry spice. I dont think eating curry will kill you. Yes, it is spicy and taste horrible if you burn or scorch it. Some oils are more healthy than others. I use extra virgin olive oil when ever i can. I know alot of Indian dishes use olive oil. Any one else have more knowledge of indian cooking that would be willing to share their knowledge, i would like to see what others have to say

  2. Better than what you fat americans eat(no offese guys), Are food is 10 timnes healtheir than the **** you eat, cheeseburger look at you guys yoiur so pathetic, your the fattest race of poeple ever! As for curry better than the **** food you eat, but ima leave now because your probably cranky that an indian kid beat you in a math test or something.

  3. It is not unhealthy and the grease has nothing to do with the curry. It all depends on how you cook it.  When I make chicken curry, I use skinless, bonless chicken and it is not greasy at all.  It taste really good though.

Some studies have shown that ingredients in curry may help to prevent certain diseases, including colon cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

  4. Indian food from restaurants is usually unhealthy because it's restaurant food, and almost all restaurant food is unhealthy.  All restaurant food is oily and salty.

Home-cooked Indian food is very healthy because it relies mostly on vegetables and on spices.

PS. If you want to be racist a$$, at least use spell-check

  5. If you're going to hate, at least learn how to spell, son.

  6. Wow! Thanks Lilly for the information. From now on, i'll always eat foods with curry and avoid fatty burgers.

  7. Honestly, I'm Indian, and I hate outside Indian food in America.  I can see the original point of view.  The vegetables that the "best" restaurant in my area makes has way too much oil, so that you have to pour it out.  Like other people state, homemade food has way less oil, and is much tastier.  The veggies are supposed to be stir-fried, not swimming in oil.  I think the reason for this is because oil is expensive, so when you add oil, it's like saying that you're getting your money's worth.  I think.  Anyways, a lot of what you think is oil is really oil and water mixed together (yes, it defies science!).  When you add a bit of oil and the water escapes from the veggies, it'll make it appear as if there's a lot of oil when only a spoonful was used.  So that's also contributing to perceived greasiness of certain chefs.

The spices are healthful.  Many of the spices my mom makes me put into our cooking is "for health reasons."  I swear, all the research being done on turmeric for alzheimers and the benefits of chili are being done by Indian scientists who want to prove their moms' wrong, only to go, awwww, shucks, she was right.  The spices also help reduce salt intake, because you don't miss it as much.  Anyways, at least with curries you're eating vegetables, and they're tasty.  I don't know a single Indian pre-teen who hates veggies.

  8. You have an uniformed opinion. Let me give you some good and bad of Indian Curries

    Bad Things

    1. Vegetables are over-cooked

    2. Lots of Ghee is used. Ghee is clarified butter that you are referring to as grease or oil.

I don't think any country uses grease for cooking

    Good things

    1. Skin on the poultry is discarded reducing fats

    2. Visible fat on lamb is trimmed reducing fats

    3. Most of the spices are healthy

-Cinnamon Cloves Fenugreek are good to control blood glucose

-Turmeric is anti-inflammatory, good for memory

Comment: Nowadays, you can eat at restaurants that use minimum amount of Ghee

  9. It is actually heathier than the typical American meal.  Because of the heat and spices in the food that make your body realease endorphins and other such chemicals, you can lose weight by eating Indian food.

  10. Lol at jimbell! Curry is a spice and very healthy for you. Indian food is my absolute favorite food. You must have gone somewhere that didn't do a good job of preparing it.

  11. I agree fully with you! lt's just oily! Where l'm from the people eats lots of curry and roti and you see them with their guts sticking out so it can't be all that healthy!

  12. Not all oil is bad.  For example, flax oil is very healthy.

Your body needs fat (monunsaturated fats) to aid in brain function.

As far as curry is concerned.... Curry contains a spice called tumeric.  Tumeric has been used for thousands of years for health, and it is currently being researched in the US for it's healing properties, specifically related to chemo patients.

    "Good taste" is relative.

Personally, I love the flavor.  .... and I'm American as apple pie.
