Is cussing in public getting worse?

I'm no prude, but I am old fashioned and believe in respecting others. I own a store, and I feel like it's a losing battle. It's just unbelieveable, how some of these social rejects think they can act as if they're in their own disfunctional living room.

  1. actually, why does it offend you? Because society said its bad? Lets face it: they are just words. Consider it a sign of the times but dont act like you were any better when you were young. Sorry, but you are a bit of a prude. The world does not nor should not revolve around you.

  2. You're certainly not wrong. Curses have become nouns, adjectives and verbs. Sometimes it seems like f*** especially is every second word for some people.

  3. Been times that cussing was a lot worse than it is now. Old west comes to mind where it was the norm.

  4. What the fu ck are you talking about? Ain't nobody doing any goddam cussing nowhere. That's some stupid **** man. Don't make no d**n sense.

  5. I do agree, people are swearing so much more.

I used to hate people who swore excessively, but I guess you could say I caught onto the fad.. I swear a lot. :l

I do think some words a WAY too inappropriate, such a the n word and the c word. Those I just can't stand.

  6. I was in Wendy's yesterday and some 50-ish year old guy was talking to himself for about 20 minutes invovling alot of cussing. I told myself that if he said one more cuss, I was getting up and letting him know what I thought of it. He didn't swear anymore.

  7. It is incredible, and sad, that so many young people have such a paucity of words in their vocabularies that they use the 'f' word as a noun, verb, adjective, adverb, conjunction or just as something to fill in space while they think. Yes, public speech has become much cruder. I'm not a prude - there are times when swearing is more or less justified - but unless you are expressing some cogent thought with your swearing, there's no point to doing it.

  8. Effin A it is :)

  9. Just because they are cussing up a storm does not mean that it is their dysfunctional living room or they are social rejects.  Cussing has been around for years, I bet if the dinosaurs could talk they would have b****ed us out.  It is what it is!
