  1. All the relevant regulations on number plates in UK are to be found in the Highway code or on the website.

  2. For U.K.

    http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/number_p...

should give all the details you need.

  3. The only customising that is legal is the small section to the right of the number where you can put things like the EU blue band or any other symbol. The customising of the numbers and letters is illegal as is having irregular spacing.

  4. you can use a country emblem on one side like george cross or welsh dragon or union flag or scottish lion and a small name at bottom like car dealer or type of car or your name but letters must not be messed about or mis spaced or altered as you will now fail mot as well.

  5. very little customising is alowed.all are set by law, size, spacing even the font...only thing i think you can get away with is a coloured boarder...

  6. This gives you the rules :- http://www.vrm-group.co.uk/FAQ.htm

There are many custom designs you can get, but the makers are careful to call them "show plates" or "fun plates".  They are not legal on the road.

  7. Its illegal if the letters and numbers are not seperated by a gap and are not conforming to current number plate layout and size.

You could be violating a 'Construction and Use' regulation(UK)....Check with an approved MOT testing station of your design...
