im not fat, but im not thin. i think im average.

5'3, 95 lbs. (i have really chubby cheeks though, so i dont appear to be thin)

andd i was wondering if i could lose the face fat and some other odd fat around my body if i cut out these two staples.

rice and pasta is ALL i eat, like on a daily basis.

rice is what my mom cooks alot since i'm indian and pasta is what i make if i dont like what my mom makes. The only thing i really like that she makes IS rice. whenever my mom makes something that usually goes with roti, i make her make rice. or i boil some pasta and eat it with sauce and some veggies or some chicken or something.

on the odd day i'll eat something different but these are the foods that i really enjoy.

soo, is it really that important for me to cut them out in order to lose a little weight?

  1. If you are 5'3" and 95lbs your BMI is 16.8 which makes you seriously underweight.  You really should not lose any more weight (in fact you should gain about 10lbs) even though you are not satisfied with your cheeks.  Since your mom is cooking for you I'm going to assume you are around teen aged.  If you are, your cheeks will probably thin out a bit as you get older.  I am like you, I'm half-Asian with chubbier cheeks and no matter how thin and bony I get they just stay the same - this is due to genetics and there is nothing that can be done about it.  It sounds like you are already eating pretty healthy.  It's unhealthy for you to lose anymore weight, accept and love who you are!

  2. Eat more potatoes to diversify your starch intake.

  3. Carbs are energy but also turn into fat when not used. Trying rationing your meals. Instead of eating big bowls of pasta and rice try eating a small portion of it with maybe a snack like an apple, peach, some kind of fruit between your big meals. This will help your metabolism speed up. Also, try running or walking for a bit to. Never hurts

  4. If you must eat rice, then try brown rice. I don't understand completely, but they say it's so much healthier than white rice.

Also, in terms of pasta, try whole wheat rice or the kind that's different colors (to get your vegies, too).  You can get them for a good price at Trader Joes (actually, the same price as regular pasta).

Try talking your mom into including vegies and proteins, also.  They say you should have a single serving (small servings) about 5 or 6 times a day.  This speeds up your metabolism because you're not starving when you're hungry, and you don't stuff yourself when you eat.

And be sure to do some cardio throughout the week.

  5. You don't have to cut rice and pasta. You can just use brown rice and wheat pasta as substitutes.  These are much healthier options.
