  1. cyber school is not an answer, you must met state schooling regulations

  2. Of course I don't know your situation or the reason why you are considering cyber school, but my opinion is this:

I wouldn't consider it for my kids because I believe they need social interaction and exercise.  Sitting in front of a computer isn't getting them either of those.  Of course, like I said, this is my opinion and may or may not be right.  Ultimately, I think you should do what's best for you and your child. Good luck!!! :)

  3. they need to be able to interact with other kids their ago so no.

  4. I think the kid who could thrive doing all their learning over the computer is a very rare kid.  You need to have a really extraordinary and unusual amount of self-motivation to succeed like that (besides lots of opportunities for socialization).

I'm sure there are situations where it's the best option ... a very ill child who can't go to regular school, for example, or possibly an extremely self-motivated child with lots of extracurricular activities and neighborhood friends who is being severely underchallenged in regular school (even then, I'd think private school would be a better option).  But for most kids I think it's a terrible idea.

  5. umm, i wouldn't. the only girl i know who did cyber school is a complete cukoo. im not saying that yOUR kid will end up this way, but its highly possibl. all social connections are basically cut off. i dont see a agood side to it at all. i wouldnt if i were you.

  6. It completely depends on your child!!!!  Many people are under the impression that cyber school is easier than "regular" school, but it really is not.  Your child (or you) must be motivated to complete all of the work without being constantly prompted by the teacher.  Also, some schools offer real-time classes in addition to self-paced classes, so you would still have to be on the computer at certain hours.  It also depends how old your child is; younger kids have more problems working on computers than older ones.  Elementary school in particular is a time when you need to introduce proper social skills to your child, which can be difficult in a cyber school unless you as a parent are prepared to go the extra mile.  If I had more information, I could give you a better answer!
