  1. Maybe I'm unusual, but I haven't ever felt sore in my abs from riding my bike, so I wouldn't say cycling is the best to get a six-pack.  It certainly helps you lose weight, but you have to tighten your gut the old fashioned way - crunches!

  2. cycling will burn fat, and tone your leg muscles, but it won't give you ripped abs! you need to watch your diet and get abs the old fashioned way: sit-ups and crunches! some yoga and pilates would help as well.

  3. yes for ex if you ride 2 hours at 10-12mph then your body would burn about 600 calories if your ride 2hours at 20mph your body would burn about 1,200 calories look for yourself  click on the trainer icon

  4. Of all the muscle groups that cycling improves, it's my experience that the abs are improved the least. There are lots of reasons to cycle, but improving your abs is a minimal return.

  5. No it won't !!

Sorry to disappoint you and shatter your illusions (and the well meaning, misguided people above).

If you want a flatter stomach - watch your diet and do sit ups instead.

  6. Yes but it takes a while you need to feel that burning sensation in your stomache, usually you feel it in you legs first... Uphill cycling is good too

  7. yeah biking will help you loose weight - but make sure you get your heat rate going and sweat.

Walking/running/swimming are better for the stomach in particular but biking will help you if you do a good bit at a time

  8. Yes, but do a lot of uphill cycling. You will feel that burning sensation in your stomach and legs and will help develop strong muscles.

  9. Try it for yourself and find out!

  10. if you mean like loosing weight, yes cycling is great, if you mean having abs popping out, cycling wont get that super cut look. but is very healthy

  11. As another said increase your HR.  Cardiovasular activity is a great way to decrease body fat.  that sounds like what you are trying to do.  At 13 depending on how "fat" your stomach is you may just be ok and grow into it.  In the meantime ride that bike for the fun and fitness of it!
