Is dancing a popular pastime in asia?

i noticed on "Americas Best Dance Crew" and on different videos of hip hop dancing on the internet that alot of the dancers are Korean, Japanese, and i think some Chinese too. Not only are there alot but theyre really good at it. I was wondering since when did they take up an interest in hip hop dancing. hopefully, this question doesnt sound offensive. its certainly not meant that way. I enjoy watching them dance and hope they will continue I just wanted some education on the whereabouts of this trend.

well actually .... its not just a past-time but kind of a passion too...... everything is global now ... so why not the dance ....

and i guess its not just asia, but other continents too .....

They have a lot of people with talent!! It's weird, living in America, you think you've seen everything. They do it differently, but it's good.
