We have decided to move our wedding to the fall of next year and not the summer(due to money issues).

Are my colors still ok for the fall:

Dark Purple(lapis), Silver/platinum, and white(with a hint of teal)?

Or could you suggest other colors that would go with Dark Purple?

  1. Yes, dark purple is ok for a fall wedding. I wouldn't change a thing because your color scheme sounds awesome!

  2. i think the dark purple is better suited to autumn than summer so as far as i can see you are fine with that!  and sweetie even if no one else agreed, its the colour you love, so use it and be happy.

why not go to the hardware store and get a whole bunch of paint colour chips?  that way you can sit in peace, play with the colours and have a very good idea of what would work with your purple.  you can pick as many colour chips as you want and in every colour imaginable so you'll be able to get a good idea as to what would look best!

good luck with it and i am sure your wedding day will be memorable! happy wedding sweetie!

  3. I think that your original colors sound great for a fall wedding. I wouldn't change them, especially if you like them! That is what is most important. Good Luck and Congratulations.

  4. I think the colours you have chosen are beautiful, they suggest a timeless elegance that fits in any context. In fact, I'd even say that deep purple is most suited to a fall wedding! It reminds of dark skylines (and nearing winter, the day ends sooner).

Purple has been a colour associated with luxury and class from ancient times, I would DEFINITELY stick with it. Silver and white are the colours that complement it most, don't change it! It will look magnificent, fresh and classy. Since you're already saying white with a hint of teal, you could even just add pale blue, tourquoise or some other shade of teal.

Other than that, it's all perfect! I'd have my wedding in that theme!

Congratulations and best of luck for your big day!

  5. Dark purple with forest green and silver would be amazing. Congrats!

  6. The dark purple/plum is great for fall. I would use silver as the main accent of those you listed, but no teal. If you are looking for other color compliments in place of silver and white, brown or burnt orange would work well.

  7. I wouldn't use dark purple, I would do more of a lavender, white and gold, or silver.

    Good Luck!

  8. I'm with you with colors except for the white, unless it's just on you.

  9. Dark Purple, is awesome any time of the year. It's colors like yellow when people have to think of different ones because of rescheduling.

With Dark Purple, its complementary color, are browns. i.e., latte, cognac, brown, mocha, chocolate, truffle, copper, expresso, and redwood. (all brown-ish colors.) However, i would even think, dark purple, black and white would be cute. Its up to you and I hope you have a great wedding. Good luck!!!

  10. I think that would be so stunning.  Dark purple in the autumn will look very nice before or after the leaves change, because it is such a rich colour.  I also think that silver would be gorgeous with dark purple!

I don't think you should worry about changing your colours because you changed your season.  The colours will all look great with the reds and golden hues of the fall, and you should have the colours you want, no matter the weather outside.  You don't always have to have a "Fall theme" wedding because you're wedding is in the Fall.

    Good Luck!

  11. Dark purple is great, skip the silver, and the teal is okay as a small accent. I might add maybe a dusty rose, though or a lighter purple like lilac.

  12. i like your colors but you might also think about using dark purple, chocolate brown, and a cream. i think those would look good with the fall colors that will likely be all around during your wedding.

    Good luck!

  13. We are having eggplant (which is a dark purple), lavender, and a silver accent for some of the things. I think the color choice depends upon what your favorite colors are.  We are getting married in October.

  14. I think that dark purple and silver would be beautiful for a fall wedding. Don't worry about it being colors for a summer wedding.

I got married in February and my colors were pink and ivory - my mom kept telling me to pick darker colors because those colors were to light for the February season - but pink is my favorite color and I didn't want to change that. Everything turned out really nice and my mom actually commented how nice the pink looked.

Just go with the colors that you love and that make you happy. The dark purple and silver are beautiful and will make a stunning combination.

If you wanted to add a hint of "fall" colors to the combination you could through in a nice burnt orange color. That would compliment your colors very well - maybe something like this:

Either way - go with what you love. I'm sure it will look beautiful either way.

  15. I think your colors sound great for fall - congrats!

  16. It's your day.   You pick exactly what you want and don't worry about what anyone else thinks.  Hopefully this will be your only wedding, your one-time shot and do what you want for this special day.

  17. Hi.  NO need to change the colors at all, in my opinion.  However, I think you have LOTS of colors going on here.  What do you mean by white (with a hint of teal)?  Is that on your gown?

In any case, I think the dark purple is more suited for the fall rather than the summer.  So, I would keep it as you have it.

  18. Dark purple is my favorite color...great minds think alike ;)

Burnt orange would be a very pretty accent color if you do not choose to stick with silver/platinum (especially in the fall).

I wouldn't suggest white or teal though, or yellow (don't want to look like the L.A. Lakers...hahaha :)

Something like this might be pretty:
