There is NO age restriction on DATING, ANYWHERE in the USA!!!!  Now, if it becomes sexual, then YES, it is against the law.

It's not illegal for the 17 year old- the 26 year old is the one who can get in trouble! He's legally an adult and the 17 year old is UNDERAGE!

Simply dating is fine.

Age of consent in Texas is 17, however in your case, I think the law stipulates that s*x is illegal.
