  1. A goolgle search on ddcCvVol.dll only shows the Yahoo!Answers, thus it is a possible spyware.

HijackThis does not need a ddcCvVol.dll; thus probably the reference ddcCvVol.dll is making HijackThis behave erratically.

I recommend that you install: Spybot-Search & Destroy http://www.spybot.com/en/download/index.... and SpywareBlaster  http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareb... These two (2) applications have proven their worth in spyware protection; and best of all they're both free and signature updated regularly. SpyBot S&D will delete spyware when found; while SpywareBlaster will block malware from being installed when you are online.

    Then

    1. Update your antivirus and antispyware definition databases.

    2. Disable your System Restore, clean up all Temporary and Recycle Bins. Use ATF-Cleaner from http://www.atribune.org , or use CCleaner from http://www.majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Porta...

    3. Boot to Safe Mode,  [restart, press F8, choose Safe Mode, login] then run your anti-virus. Clean/Quarantine when necessary.

    4. In Safe Mode, also scan for spyware, or malwares using Spybot-Search & Destroy http://www.spybot.com/en/download/index.... Clean and purge when prompted. You could also verify in SpyBot S&D which processes are running processes or active in Safe Mode. If you see direct link libraries [*.dll], right-click on it to see the properties, if it's not included in your OS, Microsoft if you are using one, or part of your antivirus/antispyware application, you could delete it. Usually malwares have their own *.dll or *.exe services, the gave-away names would be a set of random letters e.g., shdaljd.dll or scvhst.exe, which mimics legitimate OS applications, such as the legitimate Microsoft's svchost.exe.

    5. Also in Safe Mode, run HijackThis scan, and click on ddcCvVol.dll to remove it.

    6. Then run CCleaner

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Porta...

This is a portable version, just extract, then click on CCleaner.exe. Click on Registry which should bring you to Registry Integrity. Click on Registry Integrity which would remove all the checkmarks for the selection below, then select "Missing Shared DLLs, Application, Application Paths, Installer, Obsolete Software" Then click on "Scan for Issues" button below. This should clear up the non-existent direct link libraries, e.g. ddcCvVol.dll.
