  1. Only when it becomes physical rather than philosophical.  In the arts and architecture, deconstruction represents a particular (physical) aesthetic movement.  This has particular physical characteristics which are recognizable.

Philosophy cannot be 'pinned down' in such a way, and consequently...the philosophical representation of deconstruction is in a continually dynamic state.

  2. Yes, one based on nonsense ideas developed by Derrida and others.

  3. yes and no!

Deconstruction is a term used in contemporary literary criticism, philosophy, and the social sciences,

Although the man who coined the term in 1960 (Jacques Derrida - a French philosopher),  later denied its use as a movement.

Its a popular term in the artistic communities of the world.

  4. Postmodernism is a reaction to modernist ideas.

Therefore, deconstruction is a reaction against the idea that there can be a certainty of meaning in something.

That is, it is more of a reaction than a movement.

Jacques Derrida, a French theorist and considered the father of deconstruction, was the son of Georgette and Aime Derrida. He was born into a Jewish family in El-Biar, Algiers, where he was openly subjected to physical and verbal violence.  He was also prohibited from becoming a teacher.

He was not the person who coined the term "deconstruction."  The word "deconstruction" came from the German philosopher Martin Heidegger. He is though regarded as the father of deconstruction.
