Is delivering newspaper fora 12 year old a good job to get money?

I think it is a great way to get money, and along the way you learn how to schedule time and to increase your sense of responsibility. I had paper routes at your age because there were few other jobs that I could get since I was younger than 16. I'm ancient now -- 57! But it was great experience and got me money to spend on other things. It's hard to depend on mowing lawns in the summer or shovelling out driveways in the winter (if you live where it snows) for steady and dependable income.  The down-side is that the money to be made is relatively little compared to the hours you put in delivering and collecting from customers. If you do not have to collect from them personally (say they mail in their money to the newspaper) then that is a huge bonus. You have to ensure that the paper is delivered every day, so you have to plan in advance to teach someone to cover your route when you are out of town or too sick to make deliveries. If you have a route after school, then you may miss out on some after school activities such as sports. Good luck to you!
