  1. l think it is- the DESIRE is the payoff  that will come as a result of formulating and carrying out the WILL to do something.

For instance: l say "l WILL clean my house."

But it won't happen because l have no reason to do all that work- no payoff- therefore no desire, no WILL- and it won't get done.

But then my husband invites his boss for dinner. The house has to be clean to make a good impression. It's my job to clean the house so my husband looks good.

l DESIRE the benefits of making my husband happy, so now l have the WILL to get that house sparkle, and l WILL do the work needed to make it happen.

This principle applies to every instance of WILL l can think of.

  2. Of course it is.  Desire is the first step in will.  You must desire something before you put forth the effort to obtain it.  This is will.  Your will is what you want and how much time and effort you are willing to put forth in order to obtain it.

  3. Maybe it's the other way around.

  4. That depends on whether it is an emotional desire, or conscious.

  5. Often this is the case.

  6. Will generally implies a conscious decision, but a lot of desires can be instinctive. Is instinct too a part of will? I do not think so. I think that instincts are rather genetic or born out of habit or repetitive occurrence...... will is really understood as rather deliberate even if it may sometimes be subconscious, meaning the deliberation involved is not so obvious.
