Is dhoni the right choice as captain of indian cricket team?

i think the senior junior politics initiated by dhoni is degrading indian performance day by day.

players are playing to secure their place in team instead of concetrating over winning.

now it seems that sewag and tendulkar dont want to support him as they claimed injured and pulled their name out of the squad against srilanka in ODIs.

though tendulkar suggested his name for T20 captaincy but seems like he regrets that.

I believe sewag will do batter then dhoni.

A big NO! That's all I can say. Dhoni may have the leadership qualities, and may be capable of keeping his cool in tough situations, and winning crucial matches, but his ego, and his reluctance to make use of the experienced players can lead Indian cricket to it's doom! I don't understand why Dhoni has so much hatred against the seniors that he even doesn't bother to consider the value of the experience of the likes of Dravid and Ganguly for the benefit of the team! MS Dhoni never once hesitated to kick out that same Ganguly, to whom he owes his own place in the team-I don't want India to be led by such an ungrateful and arrogant person. Because of him, India lost Dada!

I too feel that Sehwag should be given a chance to lead the team. He seems to have the potential to be an excellent skipper.Hopefully, Sehwag as the captain would concentrate on the benefit of the team, rather than focussing on the anti-senior campaign like Dhoni. Dhoni's dirty tactics to keep the seniors out would lead India nowhere even closer to the 2011 WC (which MSD claims to be aiming at), as the team is too disbalanced because of the lack of experience.

Here is my Opinion

Kapil dev - winning % - 54.16% - 5 yr captain - Wold Cup under his belt

Azhar - winning % - 54.16% - 10yr Captian - Legends of Captains, Longest Indian Captain ever, and the best in my opinion.

Ganguly - winning % - 53.90% - 6rs captain - One of the most successful in Modern Era after Ponting for Aussies.

DHONI - winning % - 56.66% - 1 yr captain - 20/20 world cup, at least 6-7 yrs to go before he retires from Captaincy,

Common points between all

>Always has POKER face on - never gives the opponent a chance to understand his strategy.

>Always makes a decision quicker, Kapil and Azhar were masters

And probably more points from a professional point of view.

You guys decide WHY DHONI Doesn't deserve to be a captain.

Sehwag and tendulkar are good players and are always liked by the team members coz they treat all of them equally . and more over they always seem to be down to earth and calm and collected . sehwag could be a better captain than dhoni, if  given a chance .

since sehwag has been in and out of the cricket team he must have learnt a lot in these incidents and become more matured. a team can never win with only youngsters or only with seniors. There has to be a perfect balance in it and a person like sehwag could be the right candidate bcoz he has played with both the seniors and juniors and he will be in a mind set  perfect enough to understand the seniors and juniors and make the right decisions.

Personally i hate cricket but i like these 2 persons bcoz of their attitude . I stopped watching cricket, its more of a circus nowadays.

i do agree that Dhoni has not done good to seniors, the same Ganguly who brought him in the team is out today on recommendation of Dhoni, its fine that performance is the prime motive with world cup 2011 preparation but what Dhoni is doing is same as what Greg Chappel tried to do, too much experimentation with people and try to keep the seniors out, Dhoni will keep getting blows like Asia cup at crucial junctures however right now it seems apparent that BCCI's man is Dhoni , so there is no choice and he is getting all this because of T20 WC , but you have to praise his one aspect, he is a fighter, he has won India so many matches coming at 5 down when seniors couldn't do anything !

so i would say, just keep your fingers crossed for some more time and watch the action !

we will come to know soon, if Dhoni is a right choice or not !

I totally disagree with u! Dhoni isn't playing any kind of politics! He just wants Indian Team to be the best team. The truth is "some of the Indian seniors are not performing", the team is suffering bcoz of them (we all 've seen that in the recent Idea test series). I'm not saying that they are totally useless, the seniors are legendary player and i 've high regards and respect for them but i can't see India loosing becoz of them! Moreover, many seniors won't be playing in the World Cup 2011 so the selectors 've to get the combinations right!

Dhoni, is probably the perfect captain for India now! Sehwag won't be better than him....becoz i feel Sehwag cannot handle pressure situations well and moreover he is inconsistent! I don't think, a captain should be inconsistent like him.... I strongly feel that Dhoni handles pressure very well and the Indian team is really progressing very well under him! Acc. to me, Dhoni is probably the best candidate for captaincy for the present India team!

i hate the little freshy bigot. I want sehwag to captain, as he isnt really consisdered a senior yet and he is not a youngster. Moreover he is the right age to captain.

Dhoni has proved to be succesfull, but unfortunately concentrates more on getting younger players to the team instead of trying to build a competant team of sheer talent irrespective of age.

i dont think Sehwag can be given the responsibility as he can easily be carried away and lacks the commanding capability that Sourav and Dhoni has, unfortunately we have lost the Bengal Tiger who is reduced to a cat , thanks to Greg Chappel.

Sourav's team was the best.

but now we have no option , Dhoni is better than the rest when it comes to young captains.
