Although he played primarily for the Spanish national team, di Stefano was very much Argentinean. Born in Buenos Aires in 1926, the Blond Arrow played six matches for Argentina and grabbed a goal in every match. However, he earned Spanish citizenship in the fifties and subsequently played for them until 1961.
