  1. Well, the signal isn't effected by weather, since it's running down a shielded cable. However, if a tree falls on the cable wire during a storm, then you may lose it for a while.

  4. The cable company receives almost all there stations in digital form,  and converts some to analog for distribution, the rest are distributed via digital.

    They are combined and go out on the same cable/fiber.

    So there is NO "rain fade" with digital cable unlike satellite.
