Is doing an axel on ice and off ice very different?

Is there a big difference and how do I solve it?

And anyone has any tips for the axel?

  1. i'm having the same issue too

    right now i think it might help if i can get exactly the right propelling feeling from my waltz jump so i can transfer it to my axel


  2. MOST DEFINITELY!

    An Axel takes off on a forward edge. Start on the left forward outside edge, rotates one and a half turns an the air and lands on the back outside edge.

    all you can do is practice practice practice though =]

    and maybe some harness and off ice training.
