I think people should believe it it as the right thing too.  I mean, it is very easy to go through the motions but if you don't fully believe in what you're doing is the right way, what's the point?  It's like living your life as an actor/actress.  I think a person should have faith inside AND act accordingly.  My opinion.

Doing something for the sake of Allah means trying to please Allah, trying to follow what has said and thus following Allah means moving ahead towards Jannah because Jannah is a reward of pleasing Allah. so yes its same :) ~!

nope.  Doing something to get to Jannah would be like doing something out of greed, not out of submission.  People have grown accustomed to the latter which u stated and have made the only reason why we must do good
