  1. no, not really if you wear the proper equiptment, and don't go near avalance danger zones!!!

  2. I think that the chance of serious injury and or death is very similar for skiing as it would be for football. It really depends on what level you take your skiing at. If you are skiing green and blue runs on sunny days your chances of serious injury are pretty low. If you push your limit and ski back country, deep powder, and steep lines I do think that your chance of injury goes up. I have broken my Ankle, Heel, Ribs, Nose, and Cheek while skiing. This was all from one accident though. It was my fault as well. I do have other friends who have been hurt while skiing. We tend to be skiing in dangerous out of ski area conditions though.

  3. not at all if you knmow what you doing and you stay in bounds

  4. Only if you cannot control your speed.

  5. Take a look at the Val D'Isere downhill races on youtube they will answer your questions buddy

  6. Not if you know what your doing

  7. Just about anything you do in life is dangerous. The question is: Does the reward out weigh the risk?

  8. only if a tree jumps in your way on the way down

  9. I have always felt that driving to the mountain was more dangerous.

  10. Well it depends. It depends on what skill level you are and how daring you are. I am an expert skiier and I love to go fast and i often just miss people that are going really slow. I am usually careless when I am skiing and have yet to get hurt besides a contusion i got on my shoulder. If you are going to do back country go with a guide or a group of advanced skiiers to make it as safe as possible.

When going down watch for stupid people on advanced trails that often do not know what they are doing. You can get hurt and also hurt them pretty bad. Just be careful and you should probably wear a helmet just to be safe.

Skiing can be very dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. If you know what you are doing it's not that dangerous.

  11. Only when you fail to use due caution.  Take a set of lessons and learn what you are doing. Stay in control of your skiis and the speed you are skiing.  Know where the danger zones are and the dangerous snowboarders.

  12. It could be depending on where you ski.

  13. I don't know your age or physical condition, but on the whole, downhill skiing is not dangerous, providing you are able to control your speed.  Todays equipment is very safe and if you take a lesson so that you are able to control your speed, you will find a new state of enjoyment..

  14. not as dangerous as uphill skiing.
