What I mean is...you know how its advised to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, and tea is made up of water, does that then substitute for a glass of water?

  1. No. We can get water from foods and other drinks except any that have caffeine or alcohol in them. These actually dehydrate us and do not count towards water intake. In fact extra water must be consumed to offset the dehydrating effects of the caffeine and alcohol.

The 6 - 8 glasses is outdated and inaccurate. The body actually uses at least 8 glasses of water. For proper health and hydration we need 1 ounce for every 2 pounds of body weight plus 8 more ounces for every 20 minutes of exercise/activity we do. With hot/dry days and climates even more is needed.

  2. nope.

  3. If you are counting liquids intake then yes...but if you are dieting and exercising then no.  you need that water to hydrate you !  Green tea has benefits but you want pure water.

  4. first of all, the 6-8 glasses a day of water is a myth.  no one can prove that to be true.  And green tea contains substances that help your body, like antioxidants, egcg, and theanine.

water only hydrates your body which is good too, but tea does that also.

  5. No, water cleanses. Water with ANYTHING in it is not the same. Green tea is good for you, but it's not the same as drinking water.
