Question:

Is drinking fake iced tea like Snapple and Arizona bad for you?

These are just flavored teas with lots of high fructose corn syrup. I drink Snapple by the gallon but I was wondering if it was healthy or not healthy. I mean I hear that tea is good for you but can the sugar in the iced tea make you fat?

I think Lipton pure teas are real iced teas but they don't taste as good.

  1. There's no real way to tell you this, but yes, it is. Sorry. Both have an unhealthy amount of sugar per serving of iced tea (usually 20g or more, which is 1 tablespoon of sugar+) All that sugar isn't good for you. Nestea, Arizona, Snapple, Lipton iced teas are all considered pop even if it says tea on the can/label. If you want to drink tea to reap the health benefits, try brewing some of your own tea and adding a little bit of honey or some sugar to it, just not as much as a can of Arizona. If you continue to drink "iced tea" at the rate you're drinking it now, you're bound to get diabetes or another health problem.

  2. No don't drink the gallon but I agree the real teas do not taste as good plus sugar can do no harm just go for walk after drinking or even while

  3. My wife drinks diet snapple and it has no sugar, its low in sodium too. I think it's probably not too bad for you. She likes the raspberry flavored one.

  4. drink unsweetend tea....if you want to add some splenda to it to sweeten it some then do that......the best thing you can and should be drinking by the gallon is water.  just plain ordinary water.

  5. well if you want a healthier option you might want to make some lipton tea add lemon juice and sugar. . .or try using celestial seasonings brand of teas, they have a wide selection of fruit and other flavors, all natural. . . all you have to do is to sweeten it to your taste and add ice or chill it. . .

  6. drinking it by the gallon...not such a healthy thing to do my dear!

It is mostly sugars and c ra p in snapples..and the real ice teas do not taste as sugary. Why not try to mix the 2..to ease your self off the snapples for abit.

  7. these iced teas are bad for the health when taken in great amount (like what you do .. =p)

they are bad because they have a lot of preservatives like sugar.. teas, by nature, are easily "spoiled" so these manufacturers put in loads of preservatives to maintain the quality of their goods.

here in the Philippines, i tried leaving a branded bottled iced tea for a week in a p.e.t. bottle, and after, i saw something inside. it's a quarter-dollar-sized seed-like thing. i really cant explain how it looks like but it's really yucky. i tried shaking the bottle to dissolve it, but it didn't.. im quite sure no one put it just to fool me..
