I have a bottle of sake from Japan from about...five years ago or so. It's been corked and never open and stored at room temperature. Would it be harmful to drink it?

  1. No, if anything it might have changed to vinegar, but it won't hurt you unless you see something strange growing on it when you pour it... sediment isn't a bad thing, but anything floating i would suspect.

  2. i don't know.

  3. Smell the cork, if it smells like vinegar then do NOT drink it, you have a rotten cork. Otherwise, sake never goes bad, like most liquors, drink it up. Now it's aged, or koshu, although you didn't use a common aging technique, I don't think. You may find it better or worse depending on your tastes.

  4. I don't see why you can't drink it - I would!!!
