  1. no -- regardless of the number of gears in an automatic transmission, you still don't get full control over a manual transmission

in my opinion -- cars that come with tip-tronic transmissions is what comes close to being half-automatic, half manual.

  2. No, it is harder than an automatic.  An automatic is the way to go.

  3. your control is better on a car with clutch :)

  4. Nope!! Even a sports shifter is not like a clutch a ding dong can drive one (lol that is me I cannot drive a standard clutch to save my life)

  5. Yah except with a clutch you gotta do the gear shifting and you got 3 pedals instead of one. Other than that, I guess they are the same thing. If you mean performance wise - well the manual transmission version will most likely be quicker than the automatic due to the fact that automatics must read your intentions when gear shifting, and they aren't always exact, and the automatic transmission itself is heavy and adds weight to your car... Try downshifting in a automatic while doing 60, it's hard.

  6. Umm.......NO.

  7. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh..............no

  8. No, automatic means just that, no input is required by you. Clutches always require you to push in the clutch pedal and move the shifter into the correct gear.

  9. UH, NO, Duh..

Manual vehicle you have to manually push in the clutch to shift gears in which you can change your speed and tork at any given RPM> while an Automatic you have preset shift changes unless you ramp your RPM by  mashing the accelerator and releasing  it...

  10. No. You're talking about two different cars here. Automatic transmission, though it technically can come with "gears" is still automatic. You don't necessarily have to use the 5 speeds. Those gears are for extreme hills, conditions, etc. A car with manual transmission or a "stick shift" if you will requires a lot more work and skill since it has a clutch.

  11. Unfortunately, no. You'll not feel the "manual driving" when you're driving auto-transmission... The auto is not really suitable for traditionalists who are already used to having the clutch pedal...

  12. hahahahahahaha.... too funny!!!

  13. didnt u just put that question before??

  14. 5 speed automatic just means you have another gear for overdrive that will help with fuel economy on highways and such. It isn't any different than a regular automatic. Sounds like you know the difference between the manual and the 4 speed automatic and the 5 speed part threw you a bit. Hope that helps. =)

  15. No.It"s much easier and better to drive an automatic car anytime.

  16. It's surely not the same thing. Driving a car with a clutch means to pay attention every second to change speed and It is sometimes uncomfortable. Driving a car with 5 speed automatic is better for beginners.
