Is driving license absolutely necessary to find a decent job in the UK? ?

I am 28, lady, without a driving license. I keep applying for jobs, but nobody calls me for interviews, even though I have an MA in philosophy. After trying to find for more than 10 months, do you think that one of the reasons they don't hire me is because I have no driving license?

  1. Driving is not essential, there are allot of jobs in the inner city areas where an employer wouldn't expect their employees to drive to, (ie, lack of parking spaces etc).

Of-course, it could be totally unrelated to driving.  Most employers would ask how you intend to travel to work at an interview, so that is unlikely to be your first hurdle.

You are likely selling yourself short in your CV - get registered with an employment agency or a job site like monster.
