  1. No, I could care less about filthy junkies.

  2. Drug law reform is quite important. Clogging the nation's jails with persons who may need treatment, not punishment, solves nothing.

Unfortunately it is doubtful that drug law reform will make much of a splash in the current national debates  no matter how much some of us would like to see this. The economy and various wars are the hot topics.  Most politicians will stay away from a discussion re: drug reform in a general election even if they support it.  They won't risk appearing  "soft on crime".

Where you're most likely to hear discussions about drug reform (both pro and con) is in elections for mayors, judges and District Attorneys. I do research their positions.

  3. The government could have wiped out drug addiction years ago if they'd wanted to. Fact is that government like people to be dependent (drugs, alcohol, whatever) because that makes them more controllable by the government agencies. Bloody control freaks.

  4. Drug law reform is a very important issue today more than ever.

It has a hard impact on our economy keeping everything illegal, the war on drugs should be the war on marijuana. There is no way to control who gets it. They take one dealer off the streets theres 5 others within 3 blocks, just cause you dont know about it dont mean its not going on.

Since we cant control its flow, why not make some money off it. There will be no new dope heads just cause its legal the same people will use it, that did in the first place.

To take a look at it monetarily, we spend 60billion a year fighting drugs. For what? To throw people in prison then spend 20,000 more keeping them in prison every year. We have rapist, child molesters, and murderers getting out of jail cause there's no space. The governments answer is build more jails, there goes more tax payer money. 1,889,810 people was tried in courts due to marijuana 06, and 4.8% was for sales/maufacturing, 39.1% was for possesion. They send the repeat offenders to prison, wow anyone that can do remedial math can see the numbers.

Thats rediculous money, whereas if it was legal we would save that 60bil a year, and the money to pay for prison stays and new prisons. Then some gains on legal taxation of MJ.

Not to mention we could get off forgein oil, if Henry Ford built the first T-model to run off hemp oil, our scientist of today could do it 10 times better.

So yeah it should be a important issue to everyone in America.
