For a capable and talented student doing two courses simaltaneously will help completing both in a short span of time. An average or below average student trying to do two courses at a time may result in wasting his time losing both. It depends on learning skills of the student taking the courses.

I'm not a believer of dual coursess or dual degrees, especially dual degrees.  Once you have an educational goal, you should go for it, full force and put all of your efforts into that course of education without diverting or trying to double your efforts.
