  1. I know that 20 Silk Cut Purple are €7.55 as my dad smokes,

and as for food it depends where you shop, I would defo recommend lidle or aldi, even tesco at a push.

  2. Ireland is quite expensive... property is crazy expensive.

And i don't know what price the cigarettes are going for, but comparing with other big cities, even one as big as Paris, when it comes to a good meal....you pay double in Ireland for pretty much the same menu, and the food has lesser quality too!

But people in Ireland also MAKE more money, so maybe it balances it out a little bit.

  3. How much are cigs in the UK? I have just been told 20 cigs in €7.25!! As for food, we have a slightly higher rate of VAT than the UK, 21% as opposed to 17.5% so everything is slightly more expensive.  However, whats really pissing everyone off is a lot of our shops are UK owned high street name, and none of them have not reduced their prices despite the recent fall in value of STG.  I.E we're being charged €50 for a handbag that costs £35 in the UK, but £35 is only €44.

However, I was in London earlier this year and didn't really think it was that much cheaper than Ireland.
