The only thing we can do is to hope that someday someone will find a way to create cheap and good quality holograms... My opinion on the subject is that a duel arena, like the ones in 1st season of Yu-Gi-Oh!, will first be created because it is much easier to place a hologram projector and a scanner to scan the serial number of the card so that the right hologram will be presented when placing a card... Yes, I am Kazumo Takahushu and My group of scientist are working on a advanced technological hologrophic duel disk. Contrary to to that stupid answer you got the duel disk is pretty low tech.(Especially the Hologram Part) The Holograms are pretty low tech.3d holograms can be easily made by a special curved mirror and are used all the time. The difficult part is creating card slots and the database to determine which card makes which hologram. As You may already know. Every type of yu-gi-oh card has a code at the bottom right. We are using this code to load all of the yugioh codes for every single card in the database thus when the card is placed on or in the slot it will be scanned and the database will present a hologram depending on the card code. However, Making the Hologram move around and battle will probably will not be possible with modern science.
